The etymology behind Extend's name is quite simple: it is the ability to extend one's limbs.

Extend allows the user to increase the length of their limbs at will. It does so without compromising the structural integrity of the extended limb. The limb will remain at its usual strength until extended past a certain length, at which point it shall weaken the further it is extended.
As a side effect to its actual ability, Extend also makes the user very flexible.
